Benefits are pretty good. Discount are worth for hygiene and first aid. Clean stores (for the most part).
Half of us get things done, the other half is just there for a check and take up literal breathing air.
Each manager has the ability to uplift (or not) the employees of their store by adding a bit of their personality (or those of the workers).
Less pay then the competition. Removing, adverting or slow to implement pay raises. More employees needed for the work done. Less management/leadership work work more onto the non management. Hours of operation stretch thin the limited non sick and available staff.
Improve the pay. Outsource or higher lots of temp agencies to get people willing to work (and the right way). Stop making pay cuts and restructuring positions to appease the ones at the top. Frontier program, actually do something with it.
