Waste Connections – The people, and overall culture are amazing. But it does feel like execs are way more focused on stock performance than employee happiness. At times, I do feel underpaid relative to my work, but I'm content. I just worry we've lost our way a bit by over focusing on just one barometer of success. | Comparably

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The leadership team are very friendly, kind people.

What makes you most happy at work?

Just spending time with people; being around people that - even while busy - can laugh, joke around, and generally have a nice time.

What are some of the best things about your team?

We're able to handle large amounts of work load relative to our team size; all while balancing busy lives and large expectations. Our ability to keep our cool when "in the weeds", plus our ability to talk, brainstorm, and compromise when exploring solutions lets us accomplish whatever we need to.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Most everyone I talk to, regardless of background, are some of the most kind people that are just pleasant to be around. It's nice to be able to walk into a place you may not have been before and feel like you're meeting friends - even if you've never met anyone there before.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Predominantly, it comes down to the amount of work relative to the compensation. What would make me feel better is if the base compensation was more in-line with the market, and if the bonus was treated more as a bonus vs. the bonus being used as a stop-gap to bring me closer to the market.
