The rare opportunity to be silly, tell a joke, or strike a ridiculous pose while passing someone who isn't a fuddy duddy.
My direct superior is nice. The store manager is very positive in spite of the atmosphere of negativity that otherwise pervades the job site. These two inspire me to give it my best when they are around.
That it was fairly painless? It was about like I would expect. I was not kept waiting long, we did the interview, it was relatively casual, and I got the job even though I thought some of my honest answers would not be well received.
I don't have much, other than getting a bi-weekly paycheck, but I get paid enough for my purposes. I also have a discount card, but I do not use it since I tend to buy my own items, aside from groceries that do not receive a discount, elsewhere.
I am not sure how to answer this question. The general culture is fairly soul crushing and spits out cynical unhappy passive aggressive workaholics. Some of the employees are more fun and positive, but I feel that is in spite of the culture and not because of it.
People could be more positive. I know the store has some rough edges, but everyone has a lot on their plate. The store has a lot of 'technical debt' where one person being hasty costs another person more time than was saved. Caring about the future effects of one's actions wouldn't hurt.
