Between micro managing and constantly threatening entire departments for the behavior of some, the atmosphere has gotten very hostile. And to constantly be told to do things against corporate policy is stressful. Do you turn them in and face retaliation? Or just keep dealing with it.

I would feel better if Walmart gave raises in accordance with merit rather than attendance. People who had 4 attendance points didn't receive a cost of living wage of only 1 or 2% for the year. I've been there for 5 years and am only making .22 cents more than new hires.

Since hourly associates struggle together with poor management, there are alot of connection amongst hourly associates. Numerous hourly associates are more educated than the actual managers in the store. We hourly associates work together to find solutions to issues to tackle store issues.

There is little-to-no interview process for entry-level positions. Walmart likes to use it's online career assessment for determining whether someone would made a good employee. I just showed up and got the cashier job.

We need positive reinforcement. Discipline has it’s place and time, but when nothing anyone does is never good enough and what is wrong is the ONLY focus…. Workers become drained and depressed. Then the company, associates and customers all suffer from the hostile environment.

Constant gossip. You can't express yourself or concerns without being reprimanded. Management acts ad if they are better than employees and refuse to help anyone in need because they have better things to do, such as socializing with each other in the middle of the floors.
