It was really surprisingly laid back. A manager aside from the one interviewing me walked in and started making jokes towards the end.
The in-store management team is pretty decent depending on the manager. Some are a little lackluster, however most of them have my back. Our regional and district managers could be better.
I love most of my coworkers. They all have different personalities that are unique and fun to interact with. We can have conversations that are really meaningful and debate on things without anyone being upset or offended by opposing views.
Honestly, working with people who know what they're doing and talking about makes it a more positive environment. Most people in electronics know what they're talking about, and everyone has a certain item range they excel in, and a weakness. It's all balanced.
Walmart offers great benefits. The pay is good and I genuinely enjoy my job. My only problem is getting enough hours. Nobody who is able to work in 3 departments should be getting 22 hours a week. I am a very good associate and I am aware of it.
My coworkers. I get excited to see my coworkers and I like to work. I just wish I had longer shifts. 5:30 - 10 is not a long enough shift. You're already tired from the day when you get there and you have to try and eat dinner during your only 15 minute break or after work.
