It is a slower paced, lower stress position than I have previously help, due to the slow pace of government developmental test and the nature of the programs I am assigned to. Most people I work with have a positive mindset and a team effort focus that is enjoyable to be a part of.
The customer I support for AEVEX is laid back, and promotes work-life balance, and I am well compensated but the job is not exciting, had limited opportunities from advancement, and does not have a secure future in my opinion.
People are friendly, relaxed, and willing to help.
Solving complex problems within time and resource constraints.
The total value of everything is highly competitive compared to what I've seen or been offered previously.
Everyone is working towards the same goals and trying to do the right thing for the customer.
People definitely do their best to help each other out, train new members, and support each other's programs.
Solving interesting challenges. Discovering issues with our systems under test and figuring what we can do to workaround or fix them.
Leadership is not worried about the cost or schedule of the programs I support, just want to do everything safety and with proper documentation.
The teams I participate in have high morale, help each other out, cover for each other, and have a good attitude about working challenges together and developing procedures.
The environment has people focused on the correct thing, testing and delivery warfighting capabiltiies in a efficient manner, and I like the focus and unity of effort I find around those goals.
I have little interface with AEVEX leadership due to being contracted out in support of a customer, but AEVEX leadership does assist with anything I need and shows up to the occasional event to stay engaged with any concerns we have at my level.
The base salary is highly competitive and I appreciate the fact that overtime is available if the workload routinely exceed 40 hours a week. This is much preferable to a flex time or salary only situation where you are incentivized to work no more than your normal days.
My leaedership (Program Manager), has made me feel welcome and valued. She has been easy to get ahold of, checked in to see how my projects and training are progressing, and asked me how I feel about the role as a fit for what I am looking for my career. Overall excellent leadership.
Not relevant to AEVEX necessarily as my day to day is supported a customer as a contractor from AEVEX, but I didn't see a skip option for the last few questions. I don't see a long term future in my role due to changes to the Air Force and FMS side for the platform we support.
