I loved this company for many years proud to represent proud of what we stood for Proud of who we were I LOVED getting up every day DOING MY BEST disheartening to see lives destroyed leaders keep moving up demonstrating poor leadership not caring/pulling others up just their own greed and growth
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I've been around a long time. 37 years. I've been through some very hard times with a demotion from GM back to sales. It was so hard, but the new GM who took my place was very patient. He is being mentored by one of the best RM's in our company. They stood beside me after tragically losing my son.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They lead with heart, grace and compassion
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Bigger bonuses on making budget for the year and milestones
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I've seen my Regional Manager, My General Manager and a few collegues stick by my through thick and thin.
What makes you most happy at work?
Doing a good job for my team, my office and my GM and RM. I want to make them proud.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We are a family and truly care for each other. We've cleared out the bad weeds, and now we are getting right on track
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
treating people as more than just a # people have given their lives to this company and then they are treated with the least amount of respect as possible Even other companies will politely say " Lamar has their own way" when those trashed by Lamar are looking elsewhere for work - I'd be ashamed
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I've been to the top and now back to the bottom. I've seen way more things overlooked and only a few ditched because it served the bottom line Too much consolidation No one servicing the pole Offices are way too short on staff Crews are overworked NO JOB SECURITY Makes for a very unsafe environment
What are some of the best things about your team?
The honest ones are the best, like family. There's a difference when you can trust your teammates. Sadly, HR will side with any employee who "rocks the boat" Too scared of a lawsuit. TEAM - that word loses it's value when teams see those who try their best work hard take care of others screwed over
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Lamar's commission schedule has not changed in 35.5 years. Sad. Yes we can increase rates as sales staff no way to keep up with inflation 35 years!!!! sell a poster for four weeks HIGH local market rate - COMM 21.00/75cents a day. SAd budget made for year Sales person gets 1K - GM gets 25K WRONG
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The most positive is having trust culture has changed as all corporations are doing dismissing with no remorse When a TM can shrug their shoulders after destroying lives and say No biggie you get used to it TM tells you how to pre-invoice to keep $ in the budget with creative invoicing HMMMM
