The CT/Western MA GM only cares about numbers and dollars and not relationships with people or clients. He doesn't interact with us whatsover. They need to get out of there old fashion ways, create a better culture, help existing and new clients, and learn to be understanding and compromising.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I believe that Lamar is one of the best companies in the advertising industry to work for. I believe the leadership is the best but unfortunately, the compensation doesn't match. It's the thing I battle with daily not only for myself but also to keep staff happy.

We get paid 6% commission on our sales. If the advertiser is past 120 days, then we get 3%. I have one particular ad agency that is consistantly late in payment. I have to remind them every month of their past due invoices. We don't charge any late fees...essentially I pay their late fees.

My salary has been the same for over 10 years with no increases for the cost of living. There should have been more than one increase based on a decade of inflation. When I ask about it, I'm told it is not doable.

General managers are too powerful and will bury you if they don't like you. They don't like you making more money than them too. They cap your earnings.
