Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Salary and bonus is quite a bit lower than that offered for similar roles (comparable experience level, responsibilities, etc.) at competing labs both in California and my local state (remote employee).

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

For years on my immediate team I know I have done more work and more complex work than a colleague of equal rank chooses to do. However, he/she is compensated the same as I am. An additional incentive for high performers would be appreciated to make situations like mine more equitable.
