Assistant manager here, I have no set schedule, always covering shifts for the useless co workers the manager won't get rid of, pay is crap. Depending on what area you work at you will get more bad customers than good. They hire any loser you can no call no show all you want you won't get fired!

Doing the paperwork in the morning

No pressure they hire you pretty much on the spot
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Show up for work, do what they are supposed to instead of just standing there holding the counter down.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Corporate only care about their bottom line, they don't care about the ASMs and CSRs at all. I had someone from corporate threaten my job over doing something innocuous that the SM told me to do daily. The SM says one thing while corporate says the opposite to you, no communication
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The hard workers get paid just the same as the lazy ones who call off weekly or no call no show, in fact if you work hard you just get taken advantage of more. We should be paid a living wage plus extra for picking up the no shows, Then SMs would have less incentive to keep worthless employees
