I would highly recommend you hire the right person for the position. When a member of the mgmt team openly states they can't stand people to the staff it leaves very little room to be excited. In my past experiences, I have never heard so much idle gossip about other employees from mgmt.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Treat your employees with some respect, work with your employees, find out what their good at and help them excel at it. C stores will always need good leaders, you're only going to be as good as the leader who trained you. And please don't look down on you're employee.
