Reviews with futute goals and training
It's because of the lack of shifts that I often have trouble paying certain bills and whatnot. I needed shifts to keep me afloat but I feel like they don't listen.
For what they expect of their hourly employees, they pay would be more palatable if they at least gave them a minimum of 20 hours per week. Mind you these are mostly low-income people and 8-15 hours a week is a joke and one never knows how many hours they will get from week to week.
I was expected to run the cash register, and stock the shelves, while the shift manager took multiple smoke breaks. I was called into to work when not scheduled and given the impression that if I didn't my position at the store was in jepordy.
Be acknowledged for my work
Their work ethic and commitment to the job.

Communication Meetings Follow through Leading by example
Definitely, team building would have been helpful and give employees and the management an opportunity to discuss the work environment and air grievances constructively.
Do there jobs right and finish there jobs
Manager is most of problem, no training from her at all.
Listen to your employees give them a voice to be heard. And not be worried to do so. I'm 52 years old and I work really hard at what I try to do for my store, even though I used training from when I worked for Dollar General cause I got no direct training here then written up for things I was shown.
Get traind managers in your stores
More hours to put more employees in the store at 1 time
An actual inventory system, so that there isn't an overflow of products that don't sell. And not enough of products that do sell
To get rid of the full time assistant manager who causes turmoil and is not reliable and is costing the company money and time. Can't show up for her scheduled shifts and has walked out on her shift to leave me by myself but apparently that's ok. And still has a job?
Better background checks and 3 month probation period
Treat people nice, make good compliments instead of making them feel uncomfortable.

New and improved management fast
If the managers can simply listen to what I ask and say that I have issues with overall instead of removing things I need.
Hire people who really want to work, and retain fewer people giving them more hours. This would go a long way in keeping people who know what they are doing.
Pay the managers better and add security to stores that need it. Some usual form of physical protection would make employees feel safer, going to work.
Need more staff for faster checkout instead of just one cashier and to declutter the store.
More money per hour. One assistant manager to be happy
