How much and how often do raises happen at Dollar Tree?
Top Employee Response
If we do, I haven't seen it. They should be thankful a few of us are still there. Dollar Tree could care less about the retail side of things especially the people that do all the work!
None. Even when you do practically everything under the job title "cashier". There is no raise
Raises occur every year.
How long after an interview at Dollar Tree does it take to hear back?
Top Employee Response
I was hired immediately and started the very next day
Not long maybe a week.
I was hired on the spot. But it was before the store even opened. They called it a working interview while we set it up.
Does Dollar Tree drug test or do a background check?
Top Employee Response
No on the drug test but if you come into work high and they notice you will be sent home as it’s against policy to come to work while under the influence. Background checks only for management positions.
Only if you are applying for a management position. Just for crew member, no.
Yes. They do a saliva test for pre-employment and random every 3 to 6 months.

What are your coworkers at Dollar Tree like?
OKAY
most are very hard workers some are lazy
Horrible, Some are LAZY and some will make you struggle.
How do you feel about Dollar Tree's future?
NOT GOOD
I think because of our economy it will thrive but if they don’t increase the pay,, they are NEVER going to keep employees not good ones at least, and they are going to keep going through people and not having enough employees
ONLY people at the top will benefit and the essential workers will not benefit at all.
In your opinion, what are the most common interview questions that Dollar Tree asks?
WORK HISTORY
Can you start today? Do you have a transportation
Unprofessional at hawkesbury location
What's the interview process like at Dollar Tree?
EASY
You go into the office, sit on a chair, the manager asks you some very simple basic questions, and I’ve learned depending on how badly they need someone a monkey would get hired!!! I’ve seen over 20 people come and go in less than a year!!! It’s terrible!! We need people so badly but no one wants to work for $8 an hour,, not at Dollar Tree!!
a few questions
How would you compare interviewing at Dollar Tree to other places you've interviewed?
A monkey could get hired it’s so easy! And I’ve learned that because they need people so badly!! It’s sad how many people I’ve seen come and go
very easy
It was really simple for me
What questions do they ask during the interview process at Dollar Tree?
The same simple questions they ask at any standard retail store but much simpler
availability, experience, customer service
I was asked if I wanted the job
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Dollar Tree?
Top Employee Response
There is not any upper management support or leadership
How much they expect from you with no intentions of a raise
Find a different job
Why work for Dollar Tree?
Don’t!! That’s my honest answer!! They pay horribly, they work you like a dog, no raises and good luck getting promoted
easy to get hired
Awsome job if people were more professional
How does Dollar Tree handle HR issues?
Top Employee Response
No one seems to know.
NOT GOOD
Your management handles all that!!
How challenged are you at Dollar Tree?
Not at all challenged.
I personally challenge myself every day I am there. The store I work at has the highest turnover rate of any company I ever worked for.
Not at all, however I enjoy the work
How's the work pace at Dollar Tree?
Extremely busy
Fast.
In years past we were super busy on a regular basis but because of the management turnover and new manager coming in having zero experience with Dollar Tree, business has slacked off big time.
How do I do well in an interview at Dollar Tree?
Be nice and want to work for cheap and a lot of hours
They hire anyone
Just being myself.
How do you feel about going to work at Dollar Tree everyday?
I used to be happy and love it but now I’m sad!! Cuz I’m under appreciated and I work like a dog and the money is horrible and so is my manager
Hate it
Looking forward to it.
How often do employees get raises at Dollar Tree?
NEVER YOU MAKE THE SAME THING AS A PERSON THAT JUST STARTED NOT FAIR IF YOU BEEN THERE FOR 6-7-8YRS WE NEED A RAISE
I don’t think raises are given to the minimum wagers. Management gets raises for several things. Minimum wage associates with their .09 raise are hard to find
At my branch, NEVER!!! I can’t speak for other stores but at my store we don’t get raises! I asked my manager after over a year of being there and he laughed at me and said “Uh ya that’s a NO”!! Not unless you get promoted!!
What is the PTO policy at Dollar Tree?
1HR PER 3MOS
If your not management you don’t get pto
only if your are a manager you get it so don't bother applying here
How does Dollar Tree make decisions around promotions?
Lmao!! It’s like they dangle a carrot in front of your face telling you your going to get it and soon!! And then months go by, the whole time keep telling you your going to get it and nothing ever happens
you bust your but you may get offered an Assistant mgr. Position which is only $1.00 an hour more
you only get an offer of promotion if you willing to work anytime and day and show up for work if you're picky with your schedule and cant work weekends you will never receive a promotion
What benefits does Dollar Tree provide?
none, they won't allow their employees to reach full time hours & they only pay you an extra dollar an hour on holidays which are usually 4 hour shifts
None if your not the manager
Depends on what you are. Regular employees don't really have any
What's the office vibe like at Dollar Tree?
No office vibe
Mediocre
There isn't really a office. There's a room where u get tilts and do interviews, but I wouldn't call it an office.
