I have worked at First Merchants for two years and my experience is very positive. The culture here is very down to earth and everyone I've met is very helpful and kind, albeit sometimes unprofessional. I get paid fairly for the work I do and I have great work/life balance.

Some of my coworkers are unprofessional.

Everyone is very down to earth, helpful, and friendly.

The leadership team communicates with us frequently and are accessible and approachable.

The culture in some departments is not professional, or "redneck" to put it in one word.

The culture in my department and all other departments I've interacted with is very down to earth. Everyone is very helpful and kind.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I think my salary is high for the work I do, plus I get a cell phone stipend and EPS incentive pay on top of it.
What makes you most happy at work?
I am most happy on days when there are DE&I calls because I get to interact with others in the company that I might not otherwise be able to who have similar mindsets as me.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leadership team has frequent communication with the entire company, whether it is talking about strategy, a new tagline, or company-wide initiatives. It makes me feel like they are listening to all of us, considering our feedback, and that they are not sitting in an ivory tower.
