I think we have a long way to go in this area.
Our salaries and benefits are minimal compared to other companies within the market. I choose to stay at FMB because of the convenience and the people I work with.
We are evolving into the new age as a company which is exciting to be a part of. I think we have a long way to go, especially to retain young talent, but we are headed in the right direction.
My role is not necessarily tied to banking but could be applied in any industry. There are definitely more competitive wages with better perks (remote work, flex scheduling, etc.) with other companies in the same market that our company is just now touching on.
The constant re-orgs are doing nothing other than making employees feel unstable and insecure. We have executives and management making decisions on things that they are so far from having a good understanding on. Im concerned we are going to continue losing good, taleneted people in the tech space.
It is extremely hard to get work accomplished when we are squeezed in a tight space like a bunch of sardines. My team takes a lot of conference calls and because we sit so close together, people on the phone can hear every conversation that is going on around me. There is no privacy.
