My experience at First Merchants has been great. The mentorship from managers and top level employees is great. The only downside to First Merchants is the compensation and benefits, I believe the company is lagging very far behind where likeminded companies are at.

Everyone is generally a good person and cares about your well-being.

Having coworkers who I can talk to not just about directly related work topics, people who actually take interest in your life outside of work.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I believe annual salary compensation on the commercial banking side is not in line with the market at all. Associate bonus structure is nowhere near other banks. More accretive bonus structure for associate level employees and a raise related to recent years inflation would be very much appreciated.
