I love First Merchants Bank!!! I have been here 17 and a half years and I have made a lot of friendships along the way. I love the people I work with and the executive management team and my direct bosses are great. Especially Mark Harwick and Stephan Fluhler are amazing!!!

I love how personable and how much leadershipism they have in their souls

I love my team. We all work together and everyone gets along and helps each other.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Cost of living is still rising as I type this and 2.5 or 4% a year will not cut it
What do you like best about the leadership team?
A leader is best when people barely know she exists, when her work is done, her aim fulfilled, and they will say: we did it ourselves.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I love going to the break room every morning and singing the morning time song with all of my co-workers or you could say best friends.

An office is for not dying. An office is a place to live life to the fullest, to the max, to... An office is a place where dreams come true.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I love the way they wake up and come to work every day and sit down at their desk and do the best they can to make this company the best at what it does.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The yearly raises need to keep your salary up with cost of living and it is hard to live when that does not happen and the health insurance could be better or more HSA money.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
That everybody works together and gets along. I also like how our CEO knows your name and smiles and says hi when he is in the building. We are a pretty big company so that is kind of rare.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I love that we get a yearly raise but I feel we only get a huge raise when it comes to cost of living. It seems like we get the big raise at work and then cost of living goes up, so you are in the same boat as you were before.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I feel like we are a family and everyone is included. I love how we try to have events that make work fun. Not every event is a winner but then again you can't please everyone. I've seen so many people leave FMB and then come back later. Because our culture is hard to find.
What makes you most happy at work?
I love how we can work remotely. I work remote 2 days a week and I love it. I also love coming into the office. It helps to be around people every once in a while. Remote work is amazing though. I can do everything at home that I can do in the office. Teams is amazing!!!
What are some of the best things about your team?
I love my team and everyone that works at First Merchants. It feels like a family. I love how even though we are a pretty big bank, that it doesn't feel that way. There are not too many companies where you can see your CEO walking down the hallway and he knows who you are and stops to talk to you
