Overall, FMB is a good experience as an employee. I don't believe we are always told to do what's best for clients and make it harder for low to moderate income individuals to enjoy our services. Our IT systems still feel out of date. Direct management has been great.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I've benefited from FMB while working here for the past 3 years but I don't believe we are at a level that can compete with other regional banks that have better software, better workflows, and better advertisement. I'm not at the point where I would refer family and friends; only outside clients.

The leadership team is kind during the strange market.

That I'm appreciated and valued.

They are relaxed and can get work done without compromising their character.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The people they hire are down to earth and have a great sense of humor.

They are more like friends and do not have fake professional attitudes that you may find higher up the leadership ladder.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Personalities are laid back and I don't feel too pushed about my job. If this would change, I would leave immediately.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Products for low-moderate income individuals and minorities are being made harder to get and I don't believe we are doing what is required of us to stay in that market. We need to understand that shortfalls come with higher risk products but we are required to have them by government standards.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Base was changed at the beginning o the year and when mortgages took a dive which has made me and other team members earn less in a more expensive world. I understand I can earn a lot more if I'm successful, but when products are being made hard to get, it feels unobtainable.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Compensation has recently changed where it's more focused on commission and I have to do more commission to be able to get my previous base pay and in today's environment, that has put a lot of stress on my financial situation and I don't believe FMB changed it with the best intentions for everyone.
