I came in during a complete management change when things were chaotic. Over the last year I've noticed positive change and team building. I have been given an advancement opportunity, so I do feel more valued than I did before. I've had a pretty good experience at FMB.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
My experience overall has been good. It's comparable to the bank I came from which I like. I just wish I felt more valued as an employee. The perception is there are only a select few people who wouldn't be easily replaceable. Compensation is unfair but I don't see that changing.

The inclusivity is great. It allows people from all demographics to feel comfortable here.

I'm happiest when I'm challenged or given new tasks. It makes me feel important and valued.

We all work together minus a few. Everyone is willing to help each other to reach our mutual goals.

Everyone is willing to help one another. We all care about each other as individuals which makes it easier to work together.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Make wages comparable to other institutions in the area. It's an uneasy feeling to know I could go to pretty much any other institution and make more money.

The members who care about the success of the branch are always eager to help, full of ideas, and exhibit wonderful teamwork. We always collaborate to find new ways to help our customers and I love that.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We all work together towards the same goals and try to help each other whenever we can. The vibe here is no one is going to fail and I love that. It's very much a family atmosphere.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I have met very few members of the leadership team so I don't feel I can make an accurate assessment. The few that I have met seem like they care about the company and step in when necessary.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Compared to other banks, FMB does not pay even comparably. I got a promotion and was only given $1 more hourly to do a significantly more difficult job. That shows the bank doesn't care much for their employees.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I'm compensated the same as I was being a teller at a different bank. My job as a CRR is much more work and I don't feel I'm paid a fair wage to do everything I have to do in this role.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I would feel better about my compensation if it was keeping up with inflation. I feel undervalued because the bank makes so much money and hardly gives the people who help the bank make the money any of it. Compensation needs seriously reevaluated.
