My experience with management doing little to nothing about my department's concerns about our severely low pay and the amount of work we have picked up due to the company not backfilling positions of people that have left has soured my opinion. FMB seems content to overwork and underpay us.
What makes you most happy at work?
Solving complex problems with software solutions, and knowing that the work I do is helping to make someone's day easier.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is excellent at staying in close communication and quickly working together to solve any issues that arise. We are a close-knit group that are always working to have each other's backs
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Less so the company and more the department. My team has lost a lot of people but those of us that remain are excellent at making sure we're supporting each other in whatever we do.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Compensation on my team is FAR below market standards, using conservative estimates. My coworkers and I are picking up work of positions that are not being backfilled for absolutely no reward. Management is aware of this and does not seem to understand or take seriously the cost of ignoring this.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
We have lost a lot of people due to severely low pay in comparison to market rates. Talent cannot justify staying at a company that underpays them even for the area and the industry. A small amount of movement seems to be happening, but this is many months after upper management was told of this.
