Fred Meyer Interviews Employee Reviews

What did you like most about the interview process?

It felt casual, and I was hired on the spot which made me feel good.

The way the interviewers make you very comfortable

The questions I had were answered

How friendly the HR guy was. He was kind and had good questions and actually listened when I answered. Still have a great relationship with him.

He seemed eager for me to join our team.

Review from Sales Dept

Got the HR Director that interviewed me was nice, but is no longer with that company

I felt like i was heard and my health was actually a concern that was watched out for and still has been to this day.

Easy to talk to and ask questions about what is available to those of us older workers needing to change career course.

The interviewer was nice and seemed genuine

panel of interviewers asking intelligent questions

The casual feeling and the interaction

Review from Sales Dept

I liked the group interview we did. Working off each other and having to be creative with your answer to stand out from the others.

Review from Sales Dept

That it was very easy to schedule.

Review from Customer Support Dept

long signup, orientation, they make sure your prepared a survey is also done to see what type of personality one has, important in dealing with customers

Review from Sales Dept

They wanted to know about who you were as a person more than your experience level.

Review from Operations Dept

Drug test are a good thing

That it was fairly typical, thus predictable.

Very easy and without any pressure

Human Resource Manager had positive vibes.

They let me in after a few minutes when I was there, and I started the same day. I guess they were desperate for people in apparel.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

Less scripted. Felt impersonal and led to me not feeling like a unique employee so much as a worker bee.

Better vetting and skill evaluation or test. Maybe personality test!

This company is not worth working for.

They force a standardization to the process where interviewers are simply checking off a list of specific questions. Our newcomers at my recent store said the process was three questions and took only a few minutes. We need to allow interviewers the freedom to explore a candidates' qualifications.

Review from Sales Dept

give them a mint at the start of the interview
