With 35 years experience I am not looking for higher positions as I can help younger engineers grows and progress and the work and challenges are interesting. But young eng. tell me they need to move out of GE to get a reasonable raise and salary. I understand and this is not encouraging.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Team is committed and interested (but young and lack experience and needs much support).
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Free to work from home and (even more since COVID) remote working tools are working well.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Hard to positively answer such question when for this year we have a zero raise and yet inflation is roaming around 4%.
What makes you most happy at work?
When I fee I have positively participate to incomes and profits. As Hydro is not doing profit (since years) this is difficult.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I already mentioned salary and regarding insurance, we are grouped and in rest of Canada, the cost for insurance doens not impact income taxes but where I am (in Québec) it does. The effect is that high insurance cost in Canada are impacting
