Team managers; heard back the next day
You will have multiple interviews with multiple managers. And it can take days, weeks, or (in my case) months before a final decision might be made. Sometimes this happens because they will be filling multiple roles and passing good candidates around to see who is a good fit for what, it doesn't necessarily mean they didn't like you if you don't hear from them right away.
Several Directors, Many different managers and staff. Didn’t hear back for 3-4 weeks.

Depends on how good you are. Comparable with other tech when you take into account the 6 weeks of vacation, pretty much free healthcare, work/life balance, and awesome pension plan.
Fair, in line with most of the tech industry, minus stock options. But we *do* get almost free healthcare, a pension plan, generous PTO, and 5% matching 403B (401K for non-profits).
Pay varies depending in what region you are hired.
Do you see coworkers typically caring about the work they do?
Yes
Yes!
Absolutely, more so than in any other industry in which I've worked. The systems we support directly affect patient safety. Imagine a doctor doing an intricate heart surgery relying on digital imaging to perform the procedure correctly. He's got a patient with their chest cracked open and relying on IT to deliver what he needs to save the patient's life. When I worked in Financial Services, you could make customers whole by giving them money. It doesn't work that way in healthcare.
