What's the work from home policy like at Kohl's?
This is a retail store. Work from home does not apply to in store employees, although it may be different at the corporate or regional levels

What's the internship program like at Kohl's?
I haven’t been part of it, but we had an intern a year or so ago and she is now back and a full time supervisor.
I have had a mit..she was wonderful
How does Kohl's handle HR issues?
HR and the supervisors are very on top of things. I had an issue and my supervisor and HR went out of their way to help me and make sure I didn’t lose my position and that my health and welfare were not at risk.
There is a bullying situation by one long term employee against several other employees..they say they will talk to her and then she is sickening sweet to everyone for a couple days and then she is right back to being a bully..as a victim myself of her meanness I feel that management just is not doing enough to stop this
How innovative is Kohl's?
They update their gadgets and programs as often as they can and look for them ays to help make the job easier and more efficient. They also welcome ideas from everyone.
The technology is awful..changing signs so yesterday..half the bluebirds don't work
How does Kohl's measure success and growth in the Operations department?
Pace scores are tracked, errors are monitored, extra help or counseling is given for those who need it and growth is rewarded...
As a part time employee, I think management shows you are succeeding when they teach you a new department or section; ask you to be an omni lead.

What's the interview process like at Kohl's?
I had a group interview with about ten people, since I was interviewing for seasonal. We met in the stockroom and the interviewer asked each of us the same question and we answered.

How does Kohl's make decisions around promotions?
Listen
They do offer opportunities to move up in the company, but pay is terrible unless you're an executive. They place huge responsibilities for the promotions and the raises are terrible. They base it off "sales" and credit which means if you don't make a certain about of credit goals, your yearly raise is even smaller. I'm talking five, ten cent raises.

The company culture and its treatment of its customer base.
What is the company mobility like at Kohl's?
within the company there are many options for mobility both in position and location. First choice for open positions are given to current employees within the district and region
What kind of relocation or moving stipends does Kohl's offer?
That will depend on your employment level and whether the move is voluntary or company mandated.
What are company outings like at Kohl's?
In the stores the outings will vary at each. Usually a holiday party around Christmas. Other outings are at the discretion of the store or arranged by employees on their own. Kohls has an "associates in action" program where associates take part in charitable events that raise money for approved organizations. This can very much be an outing like experience

What do you wish you knew before starting at Kohl's?
The hours. We are open on Friday and Saturday until 11pm. We are there until midnight.

If you work hard you won't be passed by. They notice when your heart isn't in it.

What skills do you need to be successful in the Operations department at Kohl's?
Be a good brown nosed and become a supervisor favorite. Because hard work isn’t always appreciated if you don’t butter up the supervisors.
How are layoffs handled in the Operations department at Kohl's?
They send you an email firing you and make sure you can no longer log into various functions to check your employment status, pay records, attendance.
Why work for Kohl's?
They truly do care for their employees. Yes they have quality and work standards, but they follow the work hard, play hard mentality....how many businesses do you know that treat their employees to lunch, slushees, cupcakes, cook offs, and contests randomly all year long and celebrate all holidays with small tokens of appreciation for each employee?
