Lowe's Home Improvement – First two years were great, good staffing, decent managers and great people. Now it's just a downhill spiral. Since last year Lowe's has been going downhill for it's employees. Numerous cuts and losing benefit. I have no respect for Lowe's as they are now. | Comparably

What did you like most about the interview process?

The HR manager that hired me was very nice, too bad she was cut.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

No clear answers to any employee concerns, new policies aren't explained and old policies aren't enforced.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Employees morale is low and I honestly don't blame them. No one wants to help outside their departments.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I have a DEGREE in my field but here I am at $13/h. I cover multiple departments because Lowe's can't afford to staff departments even after cutting assembly, HR and maintenance. This is a almost daily occurrence.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Being understaffed is what kills me the most. At night I have to cover multiple departments and help customers with products I have no clue about. It's honestly embarrassing not for just my self but for Lowe's as a company.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Honestly it's hard to say. It's not going to get better because Lowe's is 100% just about numbers now. It's starting to feel like employees are just a number too. Even a sliver of honesty and appreciation would help but I guess that's too much to ask for.
