Everyday is new and exciting.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Goals are achievable and fair. Compensation seems to be commiserate with my responsibilities.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Good open lines of communication. We have a new HR manager and she is fantastic. We have a pretty good banquet and food and beverage team.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
We have a strong executive committee here at the Cincinnati Marriott Rivercenter. I have worked for our Director of Sales for 7 years and have enjoyed my time.
What makes you most happy at work?
I love meeting and working with my guests. Everyday is new and exciting, challenging and fun. I am a bit more senior than my peers so I get to teach the newer team members the right way, the Marriott way. Our goal is to be #1 in our market. We are always finetuning our operation.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I probably work more than 8 hours a day but that is by my own doing. I am an empty nester and I love my job. I come in on weekends to check my groups, clean off my desk etc. There are plenty of opportunities at this hotel and with in the company. I transferred to this hotel from a Westin property.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I feel bad for anyone that has to interview me. I don't interview well. I was lucky because I had 3 peers that worked here and kept bugging me to come here to work. I was a Westin guy. I am not a job hopper. I told my boss I let me work speak for me. She gave me the opportunity, its been great.
