Don't feel undervalued. Compensation is fine.

Manager was down to earth and friendly.

Communication. Greeting each other and including everyone.

Communication and a friendly group to work in.

They do include part-time employees.

More communication. Only interested in the bottom line

Meijer does offer benefits for part-time employees. Most companies do not.

Very unfriendly. They don't greet or even notice that you're there.

The person was very friendly and made it seem like a friendly place to work

They are very catty. Don't interact with new employees and make them feel comfortable.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Follow through with employee concerns. They just seem to ignore problems and think they just go away.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Meijer pushes customer engagement. If they want to push employees to greet customers it would be great if they would also greet employees They usually walk right past you and don't even act like the know who you are.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Better training on the cashiers. There is not training. Just watching someone for a few hours. There are so many different situations on the register that require special attention and they are not addressed until they are before you. Uncomfortable for the customer as well.
