START the pay grade at 20. MOVE the pay grade UP every 6-months...not bt the dime that Staples is known for, but by ANOTHER DOLLAR.
In ten years at Staples, I have seen no less than 50 Staples managers get chewed up and spat out...it seems Staples needs managers even LESS than it needs innovative team members.
