Staples is a great place to work, but even working full time, I can't afford to pay my bills. The income inequality between a customer service associate and the top management is sickening. I love my job. I want to be able to live from it.
What are some of the best things about your team?
They are knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. It makes work communication easy.
What makes you most happy at work?
Making customers smile. When someone starts with "I don't know if you can help me" and ends with "Wow, that was easy", it makes my day.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I don't like anything about the corporate culture. Profits and margins make a company worse. Staples needs to become more human focussed. We sell solutions, after all.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Being able to support myself and my family while working a single full time job would make me feel valued. I am the front line, and the only face the customer sees. I feel that should make me valuable enough to make a living wage.
