Review from Engineering Dept
They are open to consistent feedback and open communication.
Review from Engineering Dept
Very accessible and always open to have a conversation.
Review from Engineering Dept
Communication seems to be important to them
Review from Engineering Dept
Very approachable people; they push the team hard but they are reasonable people.
Review from Engineering Dept
They make goals, provide support and guidance, actively inspire those around you to reach for the achievement, and provide the tools or means to reach success.
Review from Engineering Dept
Understand the product we are producing. On the SSC program, most Director level people and up are clueless about fabrication and large assembly. Most are from other Txt BU's that only deal with assembly (not fabrication). They fail to understand core vs. context for this work. The facility is a joke
Review from Engineering Dept
Please stop making unachievable promises which are forced down onto the lower levels. Unachievable goals demoralize the workers and makes them think the leadership team is ignorant of the work being done.
Review from Engineering Dept
acknowledging and respecting the employees who have built this company brand, ensuring all BUs acknowledge achievements in the same manner so no one team feels slighted when their accomplishments are not publicly recognized because one manager is better at those types of things than another.
Review from Engineering Dept
Prioritizing the fact that employees have lives outside of work
Review from Engineering Dept
There is 0 investment in their own people from a career perspective. There are no technical development efforts related to anything engineering from program usage to basic things like GD&T. Everything is forced from people complaining. There is little fore thought into the future of programs once done
Review from Engineering Dept
Paid time off and parental leave.
Review from Engineering Dept
Competitive for the market, especially for new hires.
Review from Engineering Dept
When comparing benefits with my friends who work at other companies, it appears that the vacation, sick time, and medical plans are very good at Textron Systems.
Review from Engineering Dept
4/10 work week with Fridays off. (although this has been slowly slipping, due to poor hiring practices, understaffing, and a clueless production team)
Review from Engineering Dept
The insurance is the same price as my high deductible insurance at my last job
Review from Engineering Dept
We are lagging the market in comp and therefore losing talent.
Review from Engineering Dept
Not industry competitive salary, plus no work from home flexibility.
Review from Engineering Dept
I'm not rated on the jobs I perform, I'm rated at the title I have. Experienced people are leaving this company for higher-paying jobs with better benefits, I only stay because I'm fiercely loyal.
Review from Engineering Dept
It will largely come down to the market adjustment but I know what my peers make at similar organizations for arguably easier work.
Review from Engineering Dept
Completed task saturated, doing the work of two full time employees within my job description, with absolutely zero management interface. It is literally "out of sight, out of mind" as the existing manager will not face the issue head on and provide help. Completely burned out.
Review from Engineering Dept
Always willing to help whenever needed.
Review from Engineering Dept
The People at Textron Systems are the best part about working here. They make the day enjoyable and the office environment is very welcoming and positive.
Review from Engineering Dept
My direct manager has be one of the best I have worked for in my career, and is responsible for helping drive many of the improvements to the program. His role is not high enough to turn the program around, but it is a good start. If it was not for a great manager and good team, i would have left.
Review from Engineering Dept
People are intelligent and passionate about their job
Review from Engineering Dept
focused, drive for excellence, ability to work well with others
Review from Engineering Dept
There is a lack of a positive attitude and a desire to strive for greatness.
Review from Engineering Dept
Increase the level of communication
Review from Engineering Dept
Aim higher. We have historically had a limited view of ourselves and our place in our industry. We should be aspiring to become industry thought leaders, not just producers of great big robots.
Review from Engineering Dept
Making new team members included in conversations and activities.
Review from Engineering Dept
intelligent, knowledgeable coworkers who seem to care about what they do and enjoy doing it
Review from Engineering Dept
the amount of people who have been here more than 20 years, with multiple family members as co-workers, shows that this is a great place to work
Review from Engineering Dept
People are collegial and solution oriented. I have not encountered any petty politics.
Review from Engineering Dept
My immediate coworkers and team members are great to socialize with and work with
Review from Engineering Dept
The customers that we serve provide us with feedback that works itself back into improvements to the products which makes the customers feel valued.
Review from Engineering Dept
Using personality tests to assist with staffing teams could go a long way in increasing team morale.
Review from Engineering Dept
Culture is not the problem, incompetence of our product/process (or lack thereof) at the Director level and thru the CEO is. It is like saying Enron had a culture problem. . . . no, the core business model was flawed, and no amount of 'culture' could save it.
Review from Engineering Dept
Increase the interaction between coworkers beyond daily tasks
Review from Engineering Dept
Work from home policy. The company responded to covid very poorly and I'm not surprised employees left
Review from Engineering Dept
Involve employees more in large decisions. We say we do, but we don't. Example: all decision making around covid was done in a total vacuum.
Review from Engineering Dept
Management was very down to earth and open and honest on the challenges I would face in my new position.
Review from Engineering Dept
All of the people that I met with were friendly and helpful
Review from Engineering Dept
Currently our interview process requires applicants to interview with too many different individuals.
Review from Engineering Dept
I am doing failure analysis, which I am extremely interested in. I also have an outstanding boss
Review from Engineering Dept
Working on awesome products and making a difference.
Review from Engineering Dept
My Coworkers are what keeps me happy at work
Review from Engineering Dept
Overcoming challenging situations and learning
Review from Engineering Dept
Actually doing work that pertains to my degree and what i was hired for
Review from Engineering Dept
There is little sense of "team" in my current group. Creating an environment where people enjoy working with one another is crucial. There is little that is done from management to address personality differences between team members when such differences occur.
Review from Engineering Dept
look at my previous responses. 300 characters is not enough to properly list all the flaws in our Textron Systems leadership from the Director level thru the CEO.
Review from Engineering Dept
Get a true PLM software system and fix the flow of design information throughout the company.
Review from Engineering Dept
people being given positions they are clearly not qualified for and leadership not correcting that when it is brought to their attention from multiple teams/sources
Review from Engineering Dept
some perks at work, small tokens of appreciation once a month, pizza lunch once a month, a reason to make people want to come into work rather than work from home all the time.
