What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Understand the product we are producing. On the SSC program, most Director level people and up are clueless about fabrication and large assembly. Most are from other Txt BU's that only deal with assembly (not fabrication).They fail to understand core vs. context for this work. The facility is a joke

Please stop making unachievable promises which are forced down onto the lower levels. Unachievable goals demoralize the workers and makes them think the leadership team is ignorant of the work being done.

acknowledging and respecting the employees who have built this company brand, ensuring all BUs acknowledge achievements in the same manner so no one team feels slighted when their accomplishments are not publicly recognized because one manager is better at those types of things than another.

There is 0 investment in their own people from a career perspective.There are no technical development efforts related to anything engineering from program usage to basic things like GD&T. Everything is forced from people complaining.There is little fore thought into the future of programs once done

Completed task saturated, doing the work of two full time employees within my job description, with absolutely zero management interface. It is literally "out of sight, out of mind" as the existing manager will not face the issue head on and provide help. Completely burned out.

My direct manager has be one of the best I have worked for in my career, and is responsible for helping drive many of the improvements to the program. His role is not high enough to turn the program around, but it is a good start. If it was not for a great manager and good team, i would have left.

Culture is not the problem, incompetence of our product/process (or lack thereof) at the Director level and thru the CEO is. It is like saying Enron had a culture problem. . . . no, the core business model was flawed, and no amount of 'culture' could save it.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There is little sense of "team" in my current group. Creating an environment where people enjoy working with one another is crucial. There is little that is done from management to address personality differences between team members when such differences occur.
