This used to be a great place to work and I was proud to be apart of the team and have the opportunities, experiences, and challenges that each day brought. Now, our mental health is shot and getting worse every day. We are in an out of the doctors office from high stress. Would you stay and why?
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Nothing, and we feel it from the bottom to the top at the facility.
What are some of the best things about your team?
For those of us that have been here for years, itxs a family environment even though we don't always get along.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Have pay increases at the same time, every year, for everyone. That action alone will help those of us that are not in security feel valued. The field facilities can not run properly without programs, medical, administration, maintenance, etc. We are one team. Leadership creates division for us.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Listen to your staff. The staff let you know what's going on if you truly listen, even though you may not agree. You are not in the field and have never visited the field long enough to see how your decisions affect us. We are tired of being ignored so most of us are actively working on leaving.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Spend a week in the field working side by side with us. Get to know us, get to know what we really do, and not what you think we do. We will tell you. We have people that have been here for over 20 years. They are die hard GEO fans and they are no longer with us. They didn't retire. They got fed up.
