I just started here less than a month ago, but I am liking how it feels so far. I am concerned that the division I work for may not exist in current form past this fiscal year but there are many other Geo Group job openings so I don't feel I'll be OUT of work, just out of THIS job.
What makes you most happy at work?
I like the team I work with and the management team is supportive of my wanting to learn all I can.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Most all were welcoming on an individual basis and I have not encountered any employee who was either overtly or subtlety discourteous.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everyone I have met is committed to helping our clients help themselves and believes in what they are doing. They all seem to be willing to help each other out when it's needed.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The trainer is highly knowledgeable, approachable and proactive with check-ins. She provides a high level of support. The assistant executive director is also highly knowledgeable, solution oriented and highly competent while being very accessible and easy to talk to. Both made me feel welcome.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel like the pay is not reflective of the expensive area I live in, and the pay for job title didn't allow the director to make adjustments for my skill level. However, I was told there would be a signing bonus after my 90 days and internal promotion is preferred here, which I like a lot.
