So far, I have gained a tremendous amount of positive feelings about this job. I look forward to coming in everyday just because I know there is someone here that I can help in some way.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Everyone is very informative and helpful to me learning the process of this job.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone seems to be on the same page as far as getting the residents reacclimated into society as productive members. Helping them gain the knowledge and know-how to properly pursue a job and maintain such a position.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel the position of Employment Placement Specialist should be a job paying at least $22.00/hour base pay. That way, the $4.41 for health and welfare can feel more as a bonus versus a need amount to compete with a competitive job market.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I feel the most positive aspect of this job is that we are helping those that want to be helped and we are acting as a buffer for those that are getting out of jail/prison to somehow lessen the load of becoming a "free" person. Giving opportunity to adjust properly and assisting with job placement.
What makes you most happy at work?
The best feeling for me is when I am able to get someone a job and see the excitement on the faces of the residents that didn't believe they could get the job they were pursuing. Helping council and guide those that are in need of some motivational words, or uplifting. I get joy from such things.
