The work itself has been enjoyable. So far, working with other teams has been more rewarding than working with my own team. My direct team seems very closed off and has a lack of general direction and no clear leader.

Creative thinking and willingness to learn. They strive for improvement despite a lack of proper management and communication constraints.

Not enough information to form an opinion on this. So far it seems like any other medium to large enterprise organization.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Improve communications between teams and departments. Professionally train employees to use the tools they have access to, such as teams. Train or hire appropriate managers. Let go of old mindsets and be open to change.
