Competitive compensation, internal promotions/ recognizing employees who have a desire to take on additional business responsibilities. Transparency and consistency about the diversity and inclusion mantra because the US workforce does not seem to reflect these efforts.
We receive "merit increases" of 1-2% during annual employee reviews. Our salaries do not keep pace with inflation, even pre-pandemic, and leadership has refused to address it. For my role specifically, given the nature of the position and employment market conditions, I am severely underpaid.
