I would pay employees more especially after a year. Also H Depot could do well having a lil cafe/lounge for the contracters especially in the early am's.

  • Its a slow moving ship here, I would definitely make our leaders push for a more agile process, we have been moving in this direction but 2 years and there hasn't been a formal process, where as on .com as a necessity we've had to move faster in this direction. Just being able to have everyone in the room sooner than later makes for a much structured process rather than isolating teams. So better structure focused within the Design Thinking and or Agile processes....

  • Get rid of the favoritism and placing people in positions who aren't qualified but placed because they're favored.

Building & remodeling homes. The difficulties are with selling their credit card. Compared to the Lowes credit card H Depot's card doesn't offer much value.

  • the .com and app are pulling in the most business, print and in-store are the slowest and also slowest to adapt.

  • Technology implementation and devops (fast) Paired programming is difficult for passionate and skilled developers since a lot of the people there are not up to par and have no aim to be. It ends up being a huge waste of time and talent. Talented people find ways to learn. They don't need handholding. If they get rid of paired programming a lot of talent would flood back in.

for the .com its is much more informal but there is a set agenda, we want our candidates to be in their best element, in other words be your self and let your skill sets shine. We look at it as much more Agency style rather than corporate environment. "What are suit and ties'?

  • Easy interview process. Didn't get the drug screening requirement, especially for a $11 an hour job.

  • Easy. You answer what if scenario questions

Co workers are nice. Would be an excellent idea to have cashiers submit a review of the head cashier/ front end supervisor. Co workers are diverse which is nice. Fustrating when co workers don't show up, but that would change with better wages !

  • most of them are great, the managers not so much and anyone having issues can get crabby

  • For the last 3 years we have changed the culture here, again its not done it never will be, But what we are trying to build on is a place that is super collaborative, full of energy, fast paced, a good work to life balance, much like the agency world but with out the crazy pitch time lines, within in return has boosted our opportunity to build a stronger team that thinks outside the box.

  • People are very busy and sometimes get passionate about what they do, but it's otherwise pretty laid back and people take time out to have a bit of fun. People greet each other in the hallways and it's pretty friendly.

Depends on the position and the specific team, but when it comes to .com or app related roles, we are asking more Design Thinking, usability driven, agile development driven questions to our candidates, we are pushing the norm when it comes to the typical approach to candidates we have also had candidates show their skill sets on the fly as well as within a scoped out project where the candidate takes it home and comes back to present to the interviewees.

It's very flexible, but they hire too many people and give some full-time and part-timers sometimes gets only 4 hours a week, and sometimes it's for like 4 to 5 weeks straight, that is not right, all part-timers should get that same as the full-timers if they want it

  • I’m full time and I keep getting schedules that are like 5 days on 1off four days on one off three days on 2 off and right back to one day off in between 9-10 days I’ve asked for 2 days off in a row and some weekends occasionally to be included in that but the computer doesn’t want that to happen apparently I’m exhausted most of the time and that isn’t good when I deal with money

  • Very flexible except Sundays. I would like Sundays off to go to church

  • We have "flextime" where people are expected to work on core "power-hours" from 10-3 but can take appointments outside that time (and, theoretically, still work an 8 hour day). Sometimes people do work-from-home days but since all work is supposed to be done in pairs, work-from home is usually unproductive.
