This is the best place I have ever worked.
Mostly a great experience, although recent events have lessened my overall engagement. The inability to hire talented contract employees as permanent employees makes it hard to recruit the best people and is the only reasion I would hesitate recommending Risk Solutions to friends.
It's been a roller coaster ride. Some things are great and cause me to feel proud and engaged. Some things are not great, and I feel that Risk Solutions is not not the best place to work within RELX, based on what employees from other RELX areas have told me. I'm not as engaged as I used to be.
My initial experience was fantasic and I was an avid promoter. However, since the change at the VP level the work environment has noticeably deteriorated and we are losing many longtime employees, including one of the people who recruited me. The mid-level management is damaging Risk Solutions.
The amount of leave is very generous.
The diversity and the sense of professionalism.
The commitment to diversity and work/life balance.
Their open support of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Getting to work with a diverse group of people.
There is a clear sense of ethics in how the business is run.
The commitment to ethics, diversity, and inclusion at the highest levels of management.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion is actively promoted at the highest levels in the company.
Getting to work with other talented people from across the country and the world.
They have been genuinely concerned about the health and safety of employees during the pandemic.
We have some very skilled and talented people on our team, and we work well together.
Risk Solutions pays far under market for many positions. The benefits administration (Alight) is awful.
The commitment to diversity is very visible. The commitment to work/life balance is also very visible.
At the highest levels of management there is a strong commitment to work/life balance, DEI, and community service.
Our manager genuinely cares about the team and wants us to be satisfied with our job responsibilities and work environment.
At the highest levels the leadership team demonstrates their commitment to ethics and to making this a good place for their employees.
I am happy when I can work with the best people on other teams, and when I can complete a complex assignment.
Getting to work with interesting people from around the country (and occasionally the world). Getting to learn new things about data science.
Most of the leadership team has a clear commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The leadership team is focused on doing what is best for both the business and its employees.
I like to interact with other people around the country and around the world to learn about other areas in the company and how they depend on the work that our office does.
Pay is not equitable across teams in the organization. I would feel better if my pay was at least at the "average" level for my job category, when compared to other companies.
Employees on other teams have paths to regularly receive promotions and these paths are not available to my team. I'm regularly contacted by recruiters for positions that pay well above what I am making with Risk Solutions.
My coworkers need to behave in a professional manner. Show up for meetings on time. Work to solve problems instead of assigning blame. Meeting leaders need to shut down abuse as soon as it starts rather than tolerating it.
The office I work for pays about 25% less than similar jobs for the region, and about 35% less than similar jobs nationwide. This is somewhat offset by far more paid leave that other companies and a better than average work environment.
