
There's no 'I' in team, everyone has to work together however when leaders aren't present or interacting with the team, everyone walks all over each other.
Leadership have to act as leaders and not like friends of the employees. They must show more presence on the sales floor and within their departments, and be more supportive of their teams.
Nordstrom eliminated many ADM roles and combined a few DM roles, giving these leaders very little time to either accept their severance package or step out of their role and accept a pay cut just to keep the job.
Nordstrom needs to get back to focusing on their employees. It once felt like you were part of the family, now they are trying to eliminate and combine what they can to save money which results in the ones who care, leaving the company.
The interviews use to go through HR, now unfortunately it's meeting with the candidate and listening to them talk before you decide if they are a good fit or not. Since that change we've hired lazy people or people there just because they spoke well during the interview.
Leadership needs to be more focused on their teams and employees, they need to participate more rather than just talking about what's going on and why. The whole structure of the company has changed in just the past two years, I've been with the company for over 8 years. Customers see it also.
