The Sergeants and Lieutenants are great, hardworking guys. Warden #1 is great. I have not had any dealings with the other Wardens.
There is little positive about working in a prison. I would say that the work is easy is the only positive about it.
Dont be lazy and pull your own weight. Dont just dig into the toxic enviroment and expect new officers to be okay wifh the way it is.
Follow what is preched, stand up for your officers and respect them! Do not abuse the new people give them a fair chance at all postions dont dig into favortism.
Needs to root out the neagtive lazy people and make everyone do what they are paid to do. It starts with the high ranking supervisors down to the very bottom
Leadership team would benefit from being more understanding and structural in the way they do things in the workplace. Employees are seen as numbers to meet a ratio rather than actual employees and working class people.
A lack of adequate staffing and terrible management is the main problem. The company is cheap, and tries to operate as cheaply as possible for it is a for-profit company. This problem will never be fixed.
compensation is not brought up as often as it should be in a workplace, the cost of living in major cities has risen at a ridiculous rate and yet employees are expected to not inquire or seek interest regarding pay raises.
some employees need to learn workplace etiquette and understand that regardless of your position we are all coworkers and nobody his holier than thou. employees seem to get very complacent with their positions and think they are not held to the same standard as other employees.
That the company would hire enough people to meet minimum staffing levels would be a start. Everything about this company exemplifies the word cheap so it's unlikely. For nurse appreciation week, they bought us cardboard Little Ceasor's pizza. It was representative of how they value us.
Long Hours, the prospect of getting killed, making a mistake and someone gets killed or I could be held legally responsible and end up in prison, dealing with co-workers who don't show up, co-workers that show up just for a paycheck, co-workers that cut corners, sergeants that talk down to you.
Our current acting manager of the medical department isn't even a nurse and doesn't know what he's doing. The position should be held by minimally a BSN RN. Due to inadequate pay for what's expected, they haven't been able to find anyone dump enough to accept the position for 6 months now.
