Very frustrated. No progress for the last three years is very frustrating. My boss is ALL ROADBLOCKS and NO SUPPORT. He has always sown chaos and everyone around him has assumed he will move on to another more suitable role, but it hasn't happened. I have been challenged and just work around him.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Most of what has been positive about the last 15 years for me has now disappeared. Our business unit always had a fun, interesting and supportive culture, but that has now disappeared.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
My manager needs to be moved to another position and everyone around him knows it. All he does is cause chaos for the last 15 years and he has never been held accountable for ANYTHING.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I already answered that earlier. Accountability and cleaning house, and having COMPETENT people in Sr Director roles. Stop rewarding incompetence and longevity - reward high performers. Raises and promotions have been frozen (or so I''m told) for YEARS now.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
401K matching is wonderful, though I'm sad it is being phased out. THAT is not very employee centric, to eliminate a benefit we have had for years, and that MANY other companies have. Clearly, it's a cost cutting measure and that speaks VOLUMES around what is most important. The revenue.
What are some of the best things about your team?
just really good people on my team. Dedicated to the company, striving for success. Mostly feeling completely unrewarded, but I do what I can as a manager to help them feel supported, recognized, and important to the mission of the company. No one else does this. Morale is horrible on my team.
