Nordstrom – I have been at the company for over two years and I have enjoyed my time here. The work life balance is great, but there are not a lot of opportunities for career mobility. Because of this, we see a lot of turnover once employees hit the 3 year mark. Nordstrom is generally seen as a stepping stone. | Comparably

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The leadership team, for the most part, has good intentions and want what is best for the employees and the company.

What are some of the best things about your team?

My team is the best part about working here. They are all considerate and genuinely want the best for each other. Everyone pulls their weight and helps others out when they can.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

The interview process was long and drawn out. I am in a technical role, and only 1 of the 7 (yes, seven) interviews was technical. Because of this, I feel the company hires people they like more than people who are truly qualified.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I could be making much more at another company. I feel I was misled in the interview process and told I could not be offered more, only to find out I was lowballed. I wish the company offered more than 3-5% yearly raises as this doesn't keep up with inflation.
