My time at Sunrun has been a rollercoaster. There have been a lot of unsuspected downs as well as some ups. Truly, I want this company to pour into their employees what they pour into their customers. We make the customer experience, so treat the people who work here as if they matter more.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
Working for such a woke and positive culture focused company, put more into your employees. Value our time, even our paid time off. Give us sick days, and allow us to accrue PTO fast the longer we have been here. We want such bare minimum benefits it feels like but instead get swag. Value employees
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are constantly trying to better themselves.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everyone is trying to help each other for the most part
What is the best part about your compensation package?
My manager recognizes the hard work I do and fights for fair compensation for their employees
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
They need to be more active. It is hard to tell if they are fully engaged, if they are even around their desk and invested in their work and team.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
My team has each others backs, we are there to support each other, teach each other, and listen to each other. We are super collaborative. This was all made possible by our manager for hiring such amazing people on our team and training them to be who they are.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Employee appreciation. I work in a backend position, we are not talked about a lot, yet are vital to this company. Since we aren't really in the spotlight it feels as if we are passed by for extra appreciation, runX benefits, rewarding our hard work. It is extremely disheartening.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
If I was paid for the work required of me. I have stepped up to manager-level duties multiple times throughout my time here and my compensation does not reflect that. This company loves to make us prove we are worth our pay by piling on responsibilities outside of our current job requirements.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team cares about each other. You can feel it is genuine. They are the reason this company is great because they put in the time and effort to get customers to PTO. They go above and beyond at every ask posed to them by Sunrun. THEY are the reason this company is successful.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Caring about their employees and listening to their actual wants. We got a new rebrand and are putting a ton of money into marketing, why are we not putting money into the people who work here instead of the brand? This is supposed to be a customer and employee-obsessed company but I don't see that.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I want to work for a company that cares about me. This company likes to virtue signal that they care, but I see the money that should be going into the employees going into marketing this company to be one of the best. You will be one of the best when you have employees who are treated better.
