Overall, I really love my job because I love my field, work, and people I am making software for. Even though right now I am having a hard time trusting my coworkers and especially leadership, I have hope that it can turn around if the leadership had the same growth mindset they tell us to have.

I love working at Barracuda because I get to do what I love with people who are, more or less, also excited to be here. I find some teams challenging to work with and the lack of coherent process and roadmap alignment creates issues with speed and quality.

After working for the company for nearly a decade, I can safely say, I wouldn't have been here as long as that, if I didn't feel happy that the company is going in the right direction, and that my role within it is a positive part of that journey.

They are open to listen regardless of what position you hold in the company. This is evident in changes to systems and/or processes constantly being made to try and support any concerns employees may have, in order to retain them.

That they treat you as an individual rather than a resource. Personally I feel like I have a role which is appreciated and therefore the work I do.

Leadership needs to get better at leadership. Take AI dev days as an example. It was mass chaos, everyone was confused about the goal and the document did not match the messages middle management was conveying. No accountability either. It is easy for middle management to look busy, no results.

transparency, communication, leaders need to know how to boost morale instead of bringing it down, We need to get better at translating company goals and financial numbers into language that resonates with different functional teams, rather than sounding like we're only speaking to the sales team.

The vision and things they talk about working towards don't line up with what we are actually doing. No process. No vision. No understanding of current software development or what the actual roles are responsible for.

I'd really like to see more transparency from the executive team. There's been a ton of org changes and attrition at the leadership level and the c-suite doesn't even address it except in an email to say it happened. They say "succeed together" but don't align roadmaps across orgs.

The pay and 401K are pretty good. I wish the health benefits were better, I can't find a therapist that is covered.

There are no square pegs in round holes, it is clear that everyone is driving towards the common goal and doing it as a team despite not being able to see each other face to face for nearly two years now.

They dont pay attention. They dont follow through. They dont listen. Their work is mid at best and broken on average. We are the Walmart of security.

There are many signs that we are trying to get back to where we were pre-pandemic, and once we are that is only a good thing. The offices are being/ have been improved globally, which helps so much with the working environment.

Not necessarily going wrong, but with all the changes including the CEO, the lack of interactivity with other members of the team because of the pandemic and simply the amount of changes within my personal team, it will take a while to reconstruct what Barracuda had for me persoanlly.
