Cracker Barrel – More and more work gets piled on your shoulders with nothing to show for it aside from your frayed mental state. If you already have depression, anxiety, etc, be prepared to want to off yourself daily if you work here. That's exactly how my experience has been and continues to be. | Comparably

What did you like most about the interview process?

It was done in about half an hour. No effort really needed.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Care about your employee's mental health and pay for a change. If the managers wouldn't do what I do for my current pay, why the hell should I?

What do you like best about the leadership team?

I wouldn't call it leadership, though it's lovely how my stress and exhaustion get swept under the rug with some religious nonsense about a supposed divine plan... When they're the ones making the plans.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Some of them actually do care about helping others. The rest are high school kids who can't get off their phones or out of the squishmallos, putting more work onto those who want to actually work.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

So many employees are burnt out or aware they're getting the short end of the stick, that they don't care to do any better. What's the worst that can happen, after all? They get fired and get a job that pays better? No wonder the cooks take their time, servers slack, etc.
