I feel greatly undervalued as an employee, and have been lied to for the last 3 years about receiving a raise outside of the normal merit increases. I was promoted and promised a raise that would come with it, but that never happened.
Managers need to be dedicated to the growth and development of their employees and not just focused on using those people to get stuff done and make yourself look good. Invest in your people and it will go a lot further than you think.
Teams vary across the organization. I've been part of some pretty strong , diverse teams that worked well together to t ackle some of the crappy issues that isn't always the most fun to address. Having colleagues that you enjoy being around and are willing to work just as hard is refreshing.
I think the Executive Director for North America distribution needs to have his team's back a little bit more and stop knocking us all of the time, when the leadership doesn't like the results that you report to them. So he throws us under the bus and acts like its our fault.
