Fred Meyer Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

I like everything about it

I feel it's good when you need it

401k plan benefits medical dental etc.

I like the Union, I like the 401k plan and the match. And I like the great health coverage for my family.

I don't know how to answer that.

Review from Sales Dept

I love the 401(k)... it's a really great perk of working here... In under two year while contributing just below the max to my 401k I was able to save over $30,000 for a down payment on my house

Review from Operations Dept

discounts i recieve when i shop

401K is very reasonable and solid

We have great health benefits.

The insurance package has helped me out a lot.

They offer a great benefits package

Insurance and the benefits are fair

sick days are pretty good

Review from Sales Dept

In-store deals and sales. And discounts.

Review from Customer Support Dept

The health insurance is the best I've had so far. It's the least expensive for the broadest coverage.

Review from Sales Dept

There are no benefits here.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Because it's union, i can get medical

Review from Product Dept

Fair pay, overtime, vacation, medical ect

Review from Operations Dept

Full benefits, dental medical and vision

Review from Operations Dept

Flexible good stuff in the package

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I have worked so hard for the company with little to no staff maybe some compassion

Fair salary for hours worked.

Wages are lower that competition, uncaring decisions. i.e. under severe weather conditions, won't close early. Matching Wages to others in the area. Any kind of matching contribution to the 401k. (Unless grandfathered, they don't match at all now). A Christmas bonus or even just a party.

Pay is awful and get punished being a good worer while bad workers slack off

Their competitors offer more hours and better salary

I make less than people who have started recently. Thats not fair andcost of living here is outrageous. I have to work my butt off just to make rent and struggle just to eat every month. Benefits might be better if larger discount was applied to food purchases.

Better communication with the managers

Undervalued, underappreciated, undertrained, and unable to approach leadership about issues around disability and need for reasonable accommodations. All of these were a common theme amongst employees.

My work ethic is much bigger than my pay.

Living wage that increases with inflation, we're living in the real world here, I don't where They exist by not paying us. Better health coverage, an emergency room visit costs about 300$. Hours need to be more flexible.

If I was paid a living wage and given quality healthcare, if pto wasn't so limited, I would feel better about my compensation.

There is too big a gap between what the people doing the work make and what the people who watch the work being done make. My benefits fall into the 'don't get sick' category. If you do you won't be able to afford treatment/doctor visits.

Review from Sales Dept

I work with people who cannot grasp the concept of effort

Bathrooms are deplorable and wages during the pandemic were barely getting me by

Unfortunately, even Associates that have lots of experience and help the positive culture of Fred Meyer are woefully underpaid. Unfortunately, it's the nature of this industry. It's not much better anywhere else.

A higher living wage + less expensive helathcare

Review from Customer Support Dept

I'm not paid as much as others in my field

Review from Product Dept

Men in my same position make more than the women. Equal pay.

Review from Operations Dept

Fair pay equal treatment for employment

After minimum wage went up, I am making near close to the minimum wage start pay, with no raise. To have at lease a $1 raise
