It was relaxed and I felt a good rapport with the manager who was interviewing me.
They haven't been giving raises for a couple of years now. That should be reinstated, especially since the store is profitable.
Gossip and laziness are not punished. People could be written up, but that hasn't happened for years. It will be improved for me when I've found another job.
Management tends to be passive. Bad behavior isn't punished and those who work hard shoulder the burden for lazy workers. Management can also leave workers by themselves while talking to other workers. They share sensitive worker information with anyone and everyone.
It's downright venomous at every level of the company (by which I mean Goodwill Keystone Area- the charity). It would take strong leadership at multiple levels and I'm afraid it just doesn't have that. It's too much of a bother to have people behave professionally.
