Grindr Engineering Department Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

I like how they keep our users in the forefront, across the globe where it's easier and otherwise illegal for LGBTQ people, and aren't about financial exploitation.

Review from Engineering Dept

My leadership team is dedicated to understanding my lived experience. They work hard to keep me accountable, whilst demonstrating a healthy work-life balance.

Review from Engineering Dept

Care about delivering a great product for the LGBT+ community and a welcoming atmosphere for us to work in.

Review from Engineering Dept

They truly run a transparent org. There are no surprises other than externally introduced ones

Review from Engineering Dept

Transparency and availability. Example -- I feel that Jeff's "Office Hours" weekly meeting is very informative and gives us a great opportunity to learn more about what is going on around the company.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

Base pay seems competitive with market.

Review from Engineering Dept

Our immediate 6% matching 401k

Review from Engineering Dept

My compensation package includes a monthly stipend for Food and anything that could contribute to my wellbeing. I think that's really impactful in the sense that it allows the company to meet each employee where they are regardless of socioeconomic status.

Review from Engineering Dept

Benefits beyond insurance and pay. Stipends to help with expenses beyond normal compensation.

Review from Engineering Dept

The equity component is important because the harder we all work, the better the company does then the better we individually do

Review from Engineering Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

out benefit package was better before this team took over. we had a 10 % 401K match now it 6 % we had bonuses now we will get RSUs but most of us would prefer a combination of the 2 . we work long hours and it seems that its not taken into consideration.

Review from Engineering Dept

Last pay raise ended up being a lateral replacement of annual bonus compensation. Stung a little. Subsequent "true" raise of same amount would feel fair.

Review from Engineering Dept

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

Expertise and collaboration are top notch.

Review from Engineering Dept

All of my teammates are super knowledgable in their areas and very open to sharing that information and their expertise. Everyone is mission driven and not just thinking of Grindr as another paycheck.

Review from Engineering Dept

My team is good at setting priorities and communicating the scope of each team-member's role.

Review from Engineering Dept

Diverse and invested in the product we build

Review from Engineering Dept

We have a very senior team. This allows for the ability to share responsibilities throughout, ability to grow and learn at a similar level, move quickly through work, and have great trust in each other.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

The inclusivity and acceptance for people to be as they are and the respect that I as an individual receive.

Review from Engineering Dept

I think the most positive thing about our company culture is that no one takes themselves too seriously. Everyone is afforded the opportunity to learn and we operate under the guise that everyone is doing the best they can with the knowledge they have.

Review from Engineering Dept

Getting to work with such a talented group of engineers.

Review from Engineering Dept

Interactive, Self Dependent, multi-cultural, un-baised.

Review from Engineering Dept

Grindr has intriding news about lgbt+ news and training from time to time
