Back to back appointments all season, no lunch, returns don't get done when the season ends, tax pros leave, and you're expected to finish up those returns while manning the front desk and phone all at the same time. Then, you get told that they can't afford to hire someone to cover the front desk.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I did some of my interviews via Zoom! It was super convenient.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
It's positive and negative. It's very "You can do it!"... but when you need help it's still very "You got this!"
What are some of the best things about your team?
I love that they read and implement employee suggestions in corporate. I'm thankful that my more senior co-workers are there to help me at times.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They seem like they really want to care, but the people in cooperate above my DGM don't want to approve the expenditure of money for additional staff.
What makes you most happy at work?
I like that I can help people in the community with things they otherwise wouldn't be able to handle on their own. Also, I like they value a Straightforward attitude as I'm rather matter-of-fact at times.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Seasonal employees get to have a phone call with a therapist. regular, year-round employees get a group of attorneys on retainer for like 53 cents per paycheck, $25,000 for fertility treatments and adoption. I feel like there are two different classes of people, and this is why we can't afford staff
